Although we really didn't need to set an alarm, we were up bright and early. The sun rises around 4 and our bodies are still on east coast time, even after 5 days. Our room is comfortable despite accommodating 3 people. Earle has graciously taken the upper bunk and maneuvered well last night.
Breakfast turned out to be exciting as a number of killer whales were spotted. I could feel the whole ship lean, but couldn't retrieve the camera in time to catch them. It definitely shortened the line for breakfast. We anticipate more opportunities to see them as our journey continues.
It was very cold and windy today and we really needed a jacket heavier than what we had bought. So back to the Princess store we went. We all three bought matching jackets at a steal. The temperatures looked much more temperate before our departure, so it could be that the cold was due to the speed of the ship and the wind.
Then it was time for the lecture on shopping in each of the ports. It was like being on Let's Make a Deal with the way the Super Shopping goddess filled us in on all the great deals on diamonds, gems, and watches in each of the 3 cities that we stop.
We decided that we would then get a bit of exercise before lunch so it was 2 1/2 times around the Promenade deck. That equaled a mile. Even though we walked the same amount, Sharon's Fitbit recorded more steps and a longer distance than mine. Just goes to show how really inaccurate the devices are. Lunch was pretty mundane. The Horizon Court buffet area is not super great food and the variety doesn't seem to be as good as what we had on NCL or Grand Circle.
Finally met up with Carolyn, David, and Justin and spent the better part of the afternoon with them. We went to a Lumberjack presentation that was informative and enjoyable. Then to a Trivia Contest. We got there too late, but we will surely do well on the next one. Can't beat Sharon and me at trivia.
Formal dinner on board tonight.
Stopped in the internet cafe to try to post yesterday's blog. The internet is a true waste here. It will not connect. Hopefully, i will be able to post the accumumlated blogs when we get close tto shore and a cellular contact. Brief stop in the casino before heading back for an early bed. We have to be up early in the morning for an excursion. At least we can an hour in transit to the Alaskan time zone.
Pirates sweep the Phillies with a 4-3 win!
